It’s been on my To Do List to do some digital home office housekeeping – specifically, to organize electronic files and a growing library of photos which are currently stored on a spare laptop ~ yikes! Since running out of Cloud storage months ago, my desktop has become cluttered and the frequent reminders to upgrade storage to back up files is getting old.
Then our email access via Outlook went sideways and it was time to fix things ~ enter Steve Harback of Coast Computers. With the patience of Job, Steve restored email communication then he cleaned up some computer clutter that was impacting performance among other tweaks to improve overall efficiency. So, I brought up the elephant in the office, our lack of storage, and the nagging prompts to upgrade. I confess that I wasn’t quite on board with storing our digital life on a remote service. Steve explained that we could establish a local storage solution known as NAS (Network Attached Storage). So, we are now in the process of doing just that and with Steve’s help we will be able to centralize all of our files where my husband and I can access them on a shared network! This will be a mighty tick off my To Do List!
