Are you ready to downsize your stuff?  It’s easy IF you are willing to part with your things ~ ultimately, it’s a change in mindset and the beginning of a new lifestyle.  But I must warn you that once you start sifting through your stuff for the Keep, Toss, or Bless Forward box, there will be no stopping you!  Then the transformation of your space begins!

Before I started this business, I used to do kitchen resets on weekends with friends and family.  One of my first projects involved a massive purge of the kitchen, laundry room, and garage.  Once the homeowner saw the open, airy and tidy spaces we created, she insisted that everything she was donating to the local thrift store had to leave the premises and be out of her sight that very afternoon.  Love it!

Know that downsizing your stuff is life changing for you and for someone in need.  With this in mind, when you start pulling your closets apart and opening yet another box from storage, ask yourself if there is a plan, purpose and future for that “thing”.  Indeed you may have reasons to hold on to some things on or offsite but if you can’t recall the last time you used something, it might be time to let it go.

This past year, Tick off the List worked with clients to downsize their household, some were preparing to move to a smaller residence while others just wanted to reset their living spaces.  In every situation, there was one common thread ~ a willingness to part with things to seize the opportunity of a fresh living space.

Ready, set, let it go!  Downsizing your stuff is hard work and it is overwhelming but for me it is pure joy to help people overcome household clutter and disorganization one room at a time!  If you need a little help with your life’s inventory, email me via niki@tickoffthelist.ca ~ let’s make a fresh start!
