It has taken me three quarters of the summer season to clear my garden beds that became completely overgrown.  I just finished clearing the last area where I discovered some beloved perennials were choking among high grass and weeds.  Some of these plants were given to me by family members ~ it has been a heartbreaking (and back breaking) process to restore and restructure everything.

Just a few years ago, I don’t remember now, I expanded the garden to grow more bee friendly plants.  We hauled yards and yards of garden soil, moved landscaping rock into place, planted & seeded up a storm, and my dear husband dug more holes than I want to admit to!  It was glorious to see it all come together but in recent years, other commitments like growing this business and keeping bees left less time to water, weed, and maintain it.  Fall garden cleanup turned into a massive marathon…sadly some beds were neglected and some plants were lost.

Hindsight really is 20/20, but here we are—so I’m planting smarter and embracing “less is more”… well, almost.  From season to season, a garden will always be a work in progress but I’m aiming to spend more time to dwell in it, share it with others, and help the bees.

This gardening season has shown that amid disorder and chaos, you can discover new purpose. The same is true for your home—things seem to outgrow living spaces overnight, and suddenly it feels overwhelming.  I’ve seen it, and that’s exactly why Tick Off the List Home Services helps people clear out the clutter, restore order, and create a fresh space with new possibilities!  I warmly invite you to explore this website and for a free 30 minute consultation, contact me anytime, niki@tickoffthelist.ca 😉
