For me, spring cleaning starts when the Christmas decorations are taken down & stored away and then there it is, DUST!  It wasn’t there before the holiday season but after the room as been cleared, it’s like I haven’t dusted in months!  That’s it, the dust battle is on but this spring cleaning season, I’ve got a new “friend” in my toolkit, a duster on an extendable handle, and not a spec of dust will be left behind!  Talk about a little time saver this is.  I don’t have to drag the ladder into the house or the stepping stool around every room to dust hard to reach places.  As Mumsy would say, its bloody brilliant!

I love to clean and now dusting is just that more enJOYable.  You can find this affordable product at London Drugs, Canadian Tire, and likely countless other stores around town ~ highly recommend you get one.

This magic wand of a duster is also what I use to keep the Coast Patio Home Solutions’ showroom dust free and spotless!

It’s so important to dust your home on a regular basis which is a quick and easy way to improve indoor air quality especially during the winter months.

Here’s what’s on my To Do List this spring to improve indoor air quality;

~ Return Air Vents sure get dusty so I’ll be unscrewing them from the wall and dusting the inside of the vent and cover.  My late cat, Neo, would love to crawl in the return air vent when I was cleaning it so if you have a cat, beware!

~ Change/Clean Furnace Filter – we’ve got an Outlook calendar reminder to change/clean the furnace filter every two months. Recently, my husband invested in a furnace filter he can wash and reuse so we’ll see how that goes.

~ Air Duct Cleaning – every two years, we get our forced air ducts cleaned and this year we will be hiring a local service to get the job done.  It’s time and money well spent and it really makes a difference.  Cleaning out the dryer tube vent will be part of this task as well.

As soon as the sun starts spilling into rooms & windows, the dust battle will be on!  Furniture will be pulled away from walls, art will be removed to dust behind, every nook and cranny will be right as rain for the coming season.

PS ~ Tick off the List is a home help service so if you’re chasing the clock to tick off your To Do List, email me, maybe I can help get you to the finish line!

Thanks for your support!
